Teen Wanted for July 4 Shooting After Dispute Over Cell Phone

Lubbock Police asked for for the public’s help early Thursday evening to locate Alex Jordan Flores, 19.

“Flores is wanted for aggravated assault in connection to a shooting at the Park Apartments on July 4th, 2017,” police said.


A police report said, “[the victim] was in the process of selling [Flores] a cell phone when the two started to argue via cell phone.”

A witness told police that Flores and others then showed up in person in the 5400 block of 50th Street, and there was a fight. The witness also said Flores was told that the victim, identified in the police report as Andrew Ramirez, did not have a gun.

According to a police report, the witness said, “all of a sudden he heard a very loud noise that appeared to have been a gunshot.”

Flores was described as approximately 5’07” tall and 170 pounds.  He was described as having brown hair, brown eyes and a scar on his eyebrow.

Police also described him as armed and dangerous.
