The Bobbie Gean and T.J. Patterson, Sr. Branch Library will host the Texas Association of Black City Council Members (TABCCM) on Saturday, May 19.

Texas Association of Black City Council Members Meeting

Saturday, May 19 from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.

The TABCCM is a membership organization formed to provide a forum for black local elected officials and the community. The primary purpose is to assist in the empowerment of black local elected officials and their constituencies.
“We are very excited to have the TABCCM in Lubbock and to host them in the library named after my parents,” City Councilwoman Shelia Patterson-Harris said. “T.J. Patterson, Sr. is a founding member of the TABCCM, and we are proud that the association has grown in its activities, membership, and in mentoring new, black elected officials.”
Councilwoman Patterson-Harris will give Special Recognition to the TABCCM as this will be the first time that the association has met in West Texas.
