The following is a press release from the Texas Tech Athletic Department:
Texas Tech fans can catch their first glimpse of the Red Raiders under new head coach Matt Wells this Friday afternoon when the football program opens the final hour of its practice inside Jones AT&T Stadium.
The Red Raiders will begin their roughly two-hour practice on the turf fields located at the Football Training Facility before transitioning to Jones AT&T Stadium around 4:30 p.m. for the final hour. The fan portion of practice is weather permitting and could be altered due to inclement conditions.
Fans are asked to enter via the gate 1 entrance located at the southwest corner of Jones AT&T Stadium. Gates will open at 4 p.m. and seating will be available in the west lower bowl section of the stadium.
The open practice is one of several events on campus Friday as the Red Raider baseball and softball teams will play later that night, while the Tech track and field program will host the Fearless Champion Open at the Fuller Track and Field Complex.
First pitch between the top-10 ranked Red Raider softball team and Oklahoma is set for 6 p.m. at Rocky Johnson Field, while the Tech baseball program will continue its series with Michigan in a 6:30 p.m. start from Dan Law Field at Rip Griffin Park.
