Multiple departments at Texas Tech University offer summer camps for students to learn about various subjects. These camps also give campers the opportunity to explore and discover what a college campus has to offer.

The Institute for the Development and Enrichment of Advanced Learners (IDEAL)

Registrations for all camps close the Friday before the start of the camp.
- Science: It’s A Girl Thing
- The camp will provide girls with strong role models and dispel myths and misconceptions about careers in science, technology, engineering and mathematics. Classes offered include chemical engineering, forensics and environmental science.
- Grades 5-6: June 10-14; grades 7-12: June 17-21
- Cost: $585
- Shake Hands With Your Future
- This camp gives academic-seeking students the opportunity to experience university life and attend classes. Classes offered include electrical/mechanical engineering, architecture and business.
- Grades 4-7: July 15-29; grades 8-12: July 22-26
- Cost: $650
- Run on the Wind
- The camp is an introductory summer program specializing in the field of wind science and offers the students the opportunity to consider it as an academic pursuit.

- Minecrafter
- The camp will further improve middle and high school students’ computer programing, coding and video game design skills.
- Grades 5-8: June 3-8; grades 9-12: July 8-13

- Generation TECH
- Generation TECH was developed from the Run on the Wind camp and is best fit for high school students considering renewable energy as a career choice. The students will learn about renewable energy through hands-on and critical thinking courses.

- Summer Chess Camp
- The camp will consist of chess lessons and tournaments for students at different skill levels. There will also be sports breaks and special activities each day.

- Fashion Camp 2018: Glue, Glitter and Glamour
- Fashion Camp will give participants a chance to design jewelry, learn how to tie-dye and showcase their modeling abilities at a fashion show at the end of the week.

- There is a 10 percent discount for returning campers, campers from 4-H or families sending more than one member.
- A deposit of $150 is required to hold a camper’s spot.
- $550 for overnight campers who want to stay in a residence hall or $450 for day campers who pay before May 1.
- After May 1, the price increases to $650 for overnight campers and $550 for day campers.
- Registration deadline: May 31
- Chef Camp
- Chef Camp will help enhance each participant’s knowledge of the culinary arts through lessons, activities on plating and presentation, learning about food and a cooking competition that ends the camp.
- Ages 13-17: June 25-29
- Cost:

Personal Financial Planning

- This academy provides an opportunity for high school students to learn more about the profession of personal financial planning and be mentored by student and professional advisers.

- EGirl – Engineering: Get Into Real Learning
- Campers will learn about each engineering discipline and how they work together and will complete a project during the week that will be presented at the end of the camp. Campers will live in a residence hall.

Rec Sports

- Youth Summer Sports Camp
- Campers will participate in activities that focus on active participation including rock climbing, archery and team sports.
- Ages 7-14; availability is limited to 120 campers per session.

- Senior Camp
- This camp is a one-week session designed for older, experienced campers. Camp days begin with open swimming and continue with unique recreation activities.

National Ranching Heritage Center

- This camp allows high school choir students to receive an introduction to the Texas All-State audition music.

- This is a camp for high school mariachi students.
- June 11-15
- Cost: $450 for overnight campers who want to stay in a residence hall or $250 for day campers.
- Band and Orchestra Camp
- This camp is for high school and middle school students to learn band, orchestra, drum major or twirling tracks.
- July 8-14
- Cost: $650 for overnight campers who want to stay in a residence hall or $275 for day campers.

- TTU ART PRE-College Immersion Program 2018
- This camp for high school students will provide campers an immersive experience in two-and three-dimensional art. They will collaborate to mount an exhibition at the end of the week and learn fundamentals of innovative artmaking and curatorship in the process.
- Session 1: June 11-15, Session 2: June 18-22
- Cost: $350, includes room and board in the residence halls.
- A limited number of partial scholarships are available.
