The Texas Tech University School of Theatre & Dance presents Amy Herzog’s “Belleville” Oct. 2-8 in the Charles E. Maedgen Jr. Lab Theatre.
The play follows Zack and Abby, two young Americans living in Paris in a bohemian apartment. They have a stable marriage and Zack is on a noble mission, helping the fight toward ending pediatric AIDS. But when Abby finds Zack at home one afternoon when he is supposed to be at work, the questions and answers that follow shake the foundation of their seemingly beautiful life.
“The play explores what it means to be in a relationship in the millennial era,” said Zach Dailey, a third-year doctoral student and director of the play. “The ability to communicate verbally and honestly is a talent not all millennials possess. We have become so used to doing all of our communication in typing or with pictures that the capacity to just talk seems out of reach.”
Curtain times for the 2017-18 Lab Theatre season are 7:30 p.m. on Monday through Saturday and 2 p.m. on Sunday.
Tickets for the show are $10 for individuals and $5 for students with a valid student ID. A limited number of free student rush tickets are available for Texas Tech students.
