On Monday, the postseason honors continued to roll in for the Texas Tech men’s basketball team as the U.S. Basketball Writers Association recognized Head Coach Chris Beard and sophomore guard Jarrett Culver.
The USBWA named Culver to their All-America second team making him the only player from the Big 12 Conference recognized in either of the top two All-American teams.
They sited his Big 12 player of the year award as one reason he broke onto the list.
The USBWA also named Beard to their list of seven finalists for the Henry Iba Award. The Henry Iba award was established to recognize the best college basketball coach of the year.
According to their website, past winners of the award include Jim Boeheim of Syracuse and Bill Self of Kansas, to name a couple.
The winner of the Henry Iba award will be announced on March 25.
