The Buddy Holly Center is pleased to announce Patricia Vonne in concert during the Summer Showcase Concert Series, this Thursday, August 3 from 5:30 p.m. – 7:30 p.m. The concert is free to the public.
Awarded as Best Female Vocalist in 2014 by Austin music fans, Patricia Vonne’s music is a “hybrid mix of sound and flavors,” interpreted as “Texas border rock.” Vonne was exposed to a diverse set of music growing up in the culture of San Antonio and from her musically gifted parents. Her father moved to San Antonio on a music scholarship and her mother played guitar and sang Old World folksongs to her ten children. Her signature instrument is the castanets: a percussion instrument consisting of two concave shells connected by a string.
The evening will include:
• Children’s activities
• Cash Bar
• Food truck fare (only beverages purchased onsite will be allowed in the courtyard)
No pets will be allowed in the Meadows Courtyard. (Service animals are welcome.)
