The following is a news release from The United Family:
In early January, Nancy Sharp joined The United Family as the communications and community engagement manager. She oversees internal and external communications and community engagement for the company in all regions. Mary Myers, who formerly led communications and community engagement efforts, has transitioned to lead a new team as the manager of digital engagement. Her effort will be focused on increasing engagement on digital platforms including websites, social media and digital advertising for all company brands.

“We are thrilled to bring someone of Nancy’s caliber to The United Family, and we feel fortunate to bring her valuable experience to our team. Under her leadership, we will continue to elevate our internal communications and advance our brand in the public arena,” said Wes Jackson, chief marketing and merchandising officer for The United Family. “We’re also pleased to have Mary take the reins of a new team focused on digital engagement. The opportunity to continue building relationships with guests and team members in digital channels is exciting for the future of our business.”
Sharp joined the United Family after a 14-year stint leading communications and community relations for the Lubbock Independent School District. As regional director for United States Senator John Cornyn from 2003-2005, she led community engagement efforts for 90 counties of Texas. She was district director for Texas State Senator Robert Duncan for seven years and has prior experience in national sales and marketing.
A distinguished alumnus of Leadership Lubbock, graduate of Leadership Texas and recipient of the YWCA Women of Excellence award, Sharp has been involved in many community organizations. She served on the board of the Texas School Public Relations Association, is a graduate of Texas Tech University and earned a public communicator certification from Texas Christian University.

Myers joined The United Family in 2014 with a decade of service-based communications and marketing experience, most recently with RD Thomas Advertising in Lubbock, where she was the main point of contact for many United marketing projects. Originally from Austin, Mary moved to Lubbock to attend Texas Tech University. She earned a B.A. in Public Relations from Texas Tech in 1999.
Also a Leadership Lubbock graduate, Myers is a 20 Under 40 award recipient and was recently honored with the Girl Scouts of Texas Oklahoma Plains Women of Distinction Discover award.
