Texas Tech Head Football Coach Matt Wells arrived in Lubbock just after 1:00 pm Friday.
He arrived at the airport in a private jet and was met by Athletic Director Kirby Hocutt, the assistant athletic directors, and Raider Red. He got off the plane with his family.
Wells’ offensive coordinator David Yost was on the plane with him. Wells was scheduled to meet with the football players Friday at 5:00 pm.
The Lubbock Chamber of Commerce asked Lubbock residents to display Texas Tech flags on Saturday in support of the new coach.
Wells will be formally introduced to the public on Saturday at 11:00 am in the United Supermarkets Arena.
