Interim Superindendent Justin Louder explained the options available to TTU K-12 students on KLBK Bright & Early.

TTU K-12, a unit of the Texas Tech University eLearning & Academic Partnerships division, is an approved, online kindergarten through 12th grade school that has been meeting students’ needs for more than 25 years. Affiliated with Texas Tech University, a Carnegie tier-one research institution, TTU K-12 boasts a rigorous curriculum that allows students to work ahead, make up failed credits and achieve their goals. TTU K-12 began in 1993 as a “Special Purpose District” designed to help students whose educational needs were not adequately met by traditional school districts. Since then, they have grown to serve students across the country and in over 70 nations around the world.

The program is approved by the Texas Education Agency (TEA), which ensures all TTU K-12 curriculum meets the standards set by the State of Texas and that students will be prepared for the TAKS, STAAR and EOC exams. TTU K-12 is also approved by the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA). Over the years, the program has helped students:

  • Graduate on time or early,
  • Make up failed credits,
  • Take courses not offered in their school,
  • Earn credits during the summer without having to go to summer school,
  • Supplement their school or homeschool curriculum, and
  • Work at a pace that is right for them

Summer Options

Individual courses and credit by exams (CBEs) offer students options for the summer. They can take classes on their schedule from wherever they are!

Test Out With CBEs

Students can make up credits or test out of courses with our CBEs to make more room in their schedules or accelerate graduation.

Earn a High School Diploma

Students can study from anywhere at any time to pursue their interests or work from home. They can earn their diploma at their own pace.
