The Texas Water Development Board (TWDB) on Thursday announced a little less than $47.5 million for water projects. The City of Dickens was among the cities or counties getting assistance statewide.
The TWDB approved a total of $760,000 for Dickens which included $460,000 of financing and $300,000 of loan forgiveness.
Public records said, “The City has identified that the standpipe in its water distribution system is deteriorated and in need of replacement.”
“Additionally, the standpipe foundation is cracked, causing the structure to lean,” TWDB records said. “The City proposes to construct two new ground storage tanks to replace the deteriorated standpipe.”
