Lubbock Police arrested Samuel Estrada, 39 and Jessica Michelle Medina, 38, of Lubbock on Thursday for 3rd degree felony theft.   The two were able to post bond to be released from jail on Friday.

In June, a police report was filed by the owner of Ashley Furniture.  The police report said Estrada and Medina were former employees.

The police report said “[The suspects] were in charge of the documentation for payments to the contractors.”

The police report also described an “alternate company” that Estrada and Medina created.

“[The suspects] created and completed a false document from [the victim] to pay the business that they had created. [The suspects] did not have the authority or consent…,” the police report said.

The police report also said, “[The victim] is now out $80,000.00 from the funds that did not make it to the contractor.”

A grand jury indicted Estrada and Medina this week.

An attempt to reach Ashley Furniture in Lubbock by phone for comment was not successful.
