Two Kids Critically Hurt, Driver Arrested After Hale Co. Accident

The Texas Department of Public Safety released information Friday concerning a crash in Hale County – two miles north of Plainview along Interstate 27.

The crash happened prior to 8:00 pm Thursday.

The driver of a Chevy Suburban was going south when DPS said the driver, Kimberly Cole, 46, of California, lost control.  The Suburban rolled and ejected both a 9-year-old girl and an 11-year-old girl.

The two were listed in critical condition early Friday afternoon at University Medical Center in Lubbock.
A 7-year-old boy and an 11-year old boy were treated and released from Covenant Hospital in Plainview, according to DPS.

“Cole was arrested last night for intoxication assault and transported to Hale County Jail,” DPS said in a written statement.
