Emergency crews were dispatched to a two vehicle accident involving a semi-truck and an SUV south of Shallowater late Tuesday morning.
The accident was reported at Farm-to-Market Road 179 and Farm-to-Market Road 2641 just before 11:00 a.m.
According to the DPS, the semi-truck failed to yield the right of way to the SUV.
This resulted in the SUV rolling several times and coming to rest on its top.
The driver of the SUV, identified as Jennifer Shannon, 45, of Lubbock was transported to University Medical Center with incapacitating injuries.
She was discharged from the hospital later in the afternoon, according to UMC.
The driver of the semi-truck, identified as Randy Alexander, 68, of Sundown was not injured.
Authorities shut down portions of Farm-to-Market Road 179 while emergency crews worked the accident scene.
The Shallowater Volunteer Fire Department, the West Carlisle Volunteer Fire Department, the Lubbock County Sheriff’s Office, the Texas Department of Public Safety and the Texas Department of Transportation responded to the accident.
