The Texas Department of Public Safety reported Monday that one person was killed in a two vehicle crash in Lynn County Saturday evening.
The accident occurred on U.S. Highway 380, approximately 12 miles east of Tahoka, around 8:40 p.m.
The DPS said a semi-truck, towing a trailer, was parked on the eastbound shoulder of the highway.
A Ford F-550 truck was parked to the left of the semi-truck with its amber overhead lights activated.
A Volkswagen Scirocco, that was traveling east on the highway, approached the two vehicles from behind.
The driver of the car veered right to avoid a collision with the truck. The car then struck the back of the semi-truck.
The driver of the Scirocco was pronounced dead at the accident scene.
The name of the deceased has not been released pending notification of the next of kin.
