The new United Supermarkets in West Lubbock near Shallowater will host a ribbon-cutting ceremony to celebrate the store’s opening on Oct. 6 at 9 a.m. The much-anticipated new location on the corner of Fourth Street and Milwaukee Avenue, has been home to a United Express location for several years and will be the first store built specifically with online shopping service STREETside curbside pickup in mind.

The newest United store will offer some features currently found in Market Street stores, including fresh sushi and a full-service meat and seafood counter. Other amenities include a large salad bar and restaurant-quality food with an expanded in-store dining room and an inviting outdoor patio area as well as a large produce section with extensive organic options, and a larger floral department. The store also features Taphouse 16 beer and wine bar and Starbucks.
