Update: 2 people displaced, 3 dogs rescued in Lubbock house fire Tuesday afternoon

Two people were displaced and three dogs were rescue during a house fire Tuesday afternoon in Central Lubbock.

The fire was reported around 3:40 p.m. in the 1300 block of 60th Street.


According to Lubbock Fire Rescue, crews arrived on scene to find flames coming out of the attic and other points in the house.

Crews were able to quickly put out the fire but 50-percent of the home was damaged.

The Lubbock Fire Marshal’s Office investigated and ruled the fire started accidentally. 

They said flammable material was too close to a heat source.
