A man was arrested Wednesday afternoon following a standoff with police officers in Central Lubbock. 

The incident was reported in the 2300 block of 33rd Street. 

Shae Partain was arrested and charged with felon in possession of a firearm and aggravated assault on a peace officer. 

The Lubbock Police Department said officers were called to the scene following reports of shots fired around 1:30 p.m. 

Partain had discharged a gun inside a home, authorities said.

He refused to leave the home and reportedly threw a knife at officers. 

SWAT officers and negotiators were then called to the scene.

LPD said after a few hours, the suspect was taken into custody after 5:00 p.m.

Police said the suspect climbed into the attic of the home but fell through the ceiling prior his arrest. 

No injuries were reported at the scene.
