Lubbock Fire Rescue was dispatched to a reported structure fire in Central Lubbock Wednesday morning.

The fire was reported just before 6:00 a.m. in the 2800 block of 23rd Street. 

When firefighters arrived on the scene, they found an active fire in a two story home. 

The fire then spread to a fence and the backyard of a neighboring home.

All four occupants inside the home, Texas Tech University students, were able to escape unharmed. 

The home is reportedly a total loss and the Red Cross is assisting the displaced occupants. 

The Fire Marshal’s Office was called to the scene to conduct an investigation.

The cause of the fire is undetermined at this time.
