Lubbock Police on Friday afternoon provided updated information and said a 20-year-old Heaven Ramirez died after she was hit by a vehicle. She was taken from the scene to a hospital where she later died.
Just after 7:00 a.m. Friday, Lubbock Police and EMS were called to a pedestrian accident at North Loop 289 and Slide Road.
According to LPD, it appears she was traveling south and attempted to cross the eastbound lanes of the North Loop 289 access road when she was hit.
Police said, “The crash remains under investigation.”
