On Friday morning, the Lubbock Police Department provided an update on the name of the victim in a homicide.
Police said, “The victim in this morning’s homicide has been identified as 55-year-old Rudolfo Reina. Next of kin has been notified.”
A 16-year-old male was arrested.

A juvenile is in custody, charged with murder after a deceased male was discovered in the 3200 block of Baylor Avenue.
At approximately 2 a.m., on Friday, June 15th, the Lubbock Police Department received a call that an injured male was lying on the sidewalk in the neighborhood. The 55-year-old male was pronounced deceased at the scene.
Due to the nature of the death, detectives arrived on scene to immediately begin a homicide investigation.
As they gathered information, detectives learned the victim had been talking with a younger male prior to being found on the sidewalk. Detectives quickly located the juvenile, and as the investigation continued the juvenile was arrested and charged with murder.
Investigators are still working to determine what led to the homicide, and this case remains under investigation by detectives with the LPD Investigation Services Bureau.
CORRECTION: Police have not yet indicated the manner of death.
