The following is a news release from the Lubbock Police Department:
On Saturday, at approximately 8:45 p.m., an officer attempted to pull over a vehicle for traffic violations in the 100 block of Zenith Avenue. The driver refused to pull over and continued to evade the officer.
A short pursuit was initiated. The suspect turned down an alley in the 1800 block of Amherst. The suspect lost control of the car and hit a dumpster, gas meter, backyard fence and tree. The suspect’s car came to a stop after hitting the tree. The suspect then got out of the vehicle and ran from police.
Officers and K9 units assisted in searching for the suspect, but he was not located.
At this time, no arrests have been made.
