LUBBOCK, Texas – A suspect has been arrested in connection to a deadly shooting that occurred early Saturday afternoon in Central Lubbock.
Ivain Ray Jimenez, 28, was arrested late Sunday morning, according to the Lubbock Police Department.
Police had requested the public’s help to locate Jimenez earlier in the morning.
Jimenez was wanted in connection to the shooting of Luis Martinez, 27.

According to an LPD news release, UMC EMS responded to a male that was injured in the area of 37th Street and Avenue P around 1:30 p.m.
Upon further investigation, it was discovered the male had been shot.
He was later pronounced deceased at the hospital.
Police said Melinda Rodriguez, 23, is a witness to the murder and is being sought.
