Multiple volunteer fire departments were dispatched to a reported structure fire just northeast of Lubbock late Saturday afternoon.
The fire was reported in the 5000 block of East County Road 6420.
Chief Russ Perkins, with the Idalou Volunteer Fire Department, told EverythingLubbock.com the fire broke out in a single family home.
There were two occupants inside the home. One of the occupants was taken to a Lubbock hospital for observation, Perkins said.
The cause of the fire is unknown at this time and the home appears to be a total loss.
Idalou EMS, the Roosevelt Volunteer Fire Department, the New Deal Volunteer Fire Department/EMS and the Buffalo Springs Volunteer Fire Department also responded to the fire.
We’re told the Red Cross was also called to the scene to assist the occupants.
