The Texas Department of Transportation has scheduled a ramp closure on West Loop 289 on Tuesday, July 31. Work was originally scheduled for Thursday, but it was rescheduled because of rainy weather.
The operation on Tuesday will still require the exit ramp to Slide Road/Frankford Avenue to be closure to traffic, TxDOT said.
The following is a news release from the Texas Department of Transportation:
Beginning at 9 a.m., on Tuesday, July 31, the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) will close the southbound West Loop 289 exit ramp to Slide Road/Frankford Avenue to all traffic. The closure will allow work crews to safely perform routine maintenance and paint the entrance ramp bridge onto eastbound South Loop 289.
The Marsha Sharp Freeway flyover will remain open to traffic during the operation. Flyover traffic will have a dedicated lane to merge onto mainlane West Loop 289. Southbound Loop motorists should take the 50th Street exit to connect with Slide and Frankford. The ramp is expected to reopen to traffic before the afternoon rush hour.
The work is part of a $1 million routine bridge maintenance project repainting various bridges along Marsha Sharp Freeway (US 62/82), Loop 289 and Spur 327.
