At approximately 6:30 this morning, officers with the Lubbock Police Department responded to a crash involving a pedestrian and a pickup truck on I-27 near 82nd Street.

The pedestrian, 30-year-old Bodrick Lamar Green, was pronounced deceased at the scene.

Initial information indicates Green had just left a business located on the east side of I-27. As he attempted to walk across the northbound lane of I-27, he was struck by a pickup truck. It appears the driver of the truck tried to swerve to avoid hitting the pedestrian but was unsuccessful.

The driver of the truck lost control and crashed into the guardrail.

The driver stayed on scene and is cooperating with investigators.

The circumstances surrounding this crash remain under investigation.
