Vehicle Hits Apartment Complex in Central Lubbock

Lubbock Fire Rescue responded to the area near the 6500 block of Avenue T Wednesday afternoon.  There was a report that a vehicle, possibly an SUV, hit an apartment.  

There were reports of people inside. and police said three people were transported to a hospital with moderate injuries.


No power outages were reported on the Lubbock Power & Light website even though at least one power pole was knocked down. 

   Police said the driver, Jerry Traylor, 22, ran off but officers found him a short time later. Police said he was not charged at this time.

Lubbock Police Officers were called to 66th street and Temple Avenue at 2:44 p.m. following reports of a vehicle that crashed into a building. After hitting the building, the driver fled the scene on foot, but was followed by a witness who continued to communicate with dispatch the location of the suspect. Upon officers’ arrival, the suspect was located fairly quickly in the 1600 block of 69th street and was apprehended. The suspect, Jerry Traylor, was taken into custody after it was confirmed he had a warrant out for his arrest.
