A police report revealed new details concerning a sexual assault this week in the 2400 block of Mac Davis Lane. It was released Friday afternoon.
On Thursday police announced Thomas Lee Ponce, 27, was the suspect. Police said he was also the suspect of another sexual assault in Lubbock County this week.
Speaking about the sexual assault in the city, Police Chief Greg Stevens on Thursday said, “He held her against her will for just over 12 hours and sexually assaulted her.”
Stevens said the woman was targeted as she was going home.
A police report said, “[The victim] was assaulted by [the suspect], taken into her apartment and held against her will and sexually assaulted.”
“[The victim] eventually escaped from [the suspect],” the police report said.
The police report indicated she was held for more than twelve hours. The police report used the terms “sexual assault” and “aggravated sexual assault.”
The police report said the victim was blindfolded, bound, and gagged. It also said Ponce had a knife.
Many portions of the police report were blacked out before it was released.
