An arrest warrant on Monday provided new details after two people were arrested for murder.

On November 28, police investigated skeletal human remains found in the 2100 block of 20th Street.  Court records described the home as vacant.

An official statement from police said Kethan Anderson, 38, was arrested in Hereford and Anna Smith, 31, was arrested in Burleson – both on a murder warrant from Lubbock.

“The Lubbock County Medical Examiner’s Office is still working to identify the victim believed to be a male,” the official statement said.

“Anna Ruth Smith, Kethan Lee Anderson and the victim were all homeless,” an arrest warrant said.

Smith and Anderson did not know the victim, according to the warrant.

“Anderson has bragged to numerous people since this incident occurred about choking a man and killing him in a back yard,” the warrant said.

A portion of the warrant said:

A sworn statement was obtained from Anna Smith. Anna Smith stated that she had caught the victim exposing himself over her while she had been asleep. Kethan Anderson and Anna Smith left the residence and returned an hour or an hour and a half later. Anna Smith confronted the victim about him exposing himself. Anna Smith admitted to pulling a knife on the victim. Kethan Anderson then tackled the victim to the ground. Anna Smith admitted to helping hold the victim to the ground while Kethan Anderson strangled the victim with his hands. Anna Smith stated that Kethan Anderson strangled the victim until he was no longer moving.

The warrant said even though the victim was not yet identified, physical evidence was consistent with strangulation.
