Lubbock Police scheduled a press conference for 2:00 pm Friday to provide a statement from Chief Greg Stevens about two officer-involved shootings overnight.

One shooting was in the 3300 block of Grinnell Street. The other was at Frankford Avenue and 34th Street. 

Concerning the Grinnell Street shooting, EverythingLubbock.com was the first to report the name of the suspect who was shot.  Paul Anthony Balderas was wanted for a parole violation and he was under investigation for narcotics violations.  Police said he reached for a gun when approached by officers.
