WHAT:
On June 30 there will be a ‘Families Belong Together’ national day of action, with more than 600 events in all 50 states, including Lubbock, Texas. Tens of thousands of people are expected to participate nationwide. The actions are focused on opposing the separation and detention of migrant families. The event is organized by the West Texas Democratic Coordinated Campaign that includes Miguel Levario for Congress (TX-19), Samantha Fields for Texas House District 84, Drew Landry for Texas House District 83, Nick Harpster for Lubbock County Commissioner, Pct. 2, and T.G. Caraway for Lubbock County, Pct. 4

WHY:
The President and his Administration chose to separating children from their parents. This was a punitive choice made by the President and his Administration. Family separation and indefinite detention camps for families are both immoral and wrong. Many Americans overwhelmingly reject family separation and want to reunite families.
