Caleb has three loves family, football, and the Dallas Cowboys. Texas Tech’s Chi Omega’s surprised him with his dream trip to Dallas.

“I dreamed of playing for the Dallas Cowboys,” said Caleb Gentry, Wish Kid.

While visiting his doctor earlier this year, he begged him to talk his mom into letting him play football.

“Caleb said ‘please please please tell my mom I’m well enough to play football.’ He [the doctor] said ‘well mom what do you think?’ He said ‘well mom have you ever done Make-A-Wish?’ I said no. He [the doctor] said ‘Caleb how would you like to play for the Dallas Cowboys?’ and that’s all it took,” said Jan Hinkle, Caleb’s mom.

Now he gets an up close and personal look at the stadium, and even gets to hang out with the team.

“Zeke Elliot, he’s my favorite all the time,” said Caleb.

Caleb has had that fighting spirit just like the Cowboys since he was born.

“Caleb, he was born seven weeks early. He had his first surgery at a day old, had open heart at two and a half weeks old. Before he was a year old we spent three months in the hospital with one thing and then another. Just the drive he had, doctors were shaking their heads going this boy should not be here. And here he is and he’s a miracle in more ways than one,” said Jan.

His parents always let Caleb know he can be and do anything his heart desires. Now he’s getting to do just that.

“I want to see my favorite team,” said Caleb.

Thomas Hinkle, Caleb’s dad said, “It’s going to be great for Caleb and the Make-A-Wish people are outstanding and we just want to say thank you.”
