The Texas Department of Public Safety on Monday released information about a deadly crash in Scurry County.  DPS said the crash happened Sunday morning more than 16 miles northwest of Snyder.

DPS said Delfina Diaz Guardado, 52, of Amarillo was driving a pickup truck south on US Highway 84.  DPS said the truck veered into the left median.

“The vehicle went into the northbound lanes after losing a tire and rolled several times,” DPS said.  The driver later died at University Medical Center in Lubbock.

DPS said a passenger, Cristina Guardado, 25, of Amarillo was taken to UMC with serious injuries.

The crash summary from DPS did not say why the truck veered.  The crash was said to still be under investigation.

Conditions were clear and dry. Both women were wearing seat belts, according to DPS.
