Xcel Energy customers south of Broadway in Denver City will be without power for up to 15 minutes starting at 9 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 8 as substation crews perform maintenance on the Denver City East Substation near Broadway and Main Street.
The work can only be performed safely if the lines feeding the southern part of the city are de-energized.
Xcel Energy will contact the 970 customers to be affected by phone starting at 6 p.m. Monday to remind them of the short outage.
“These repairs will ensure the reliability of our service in Denver City, and it’s important that we perform this maintenance now, and that we perform it in a safe manner,” said Steve Deaton, regional manager for Community and Economic Development in Lubbock. “We appreciate everyone’s understanding as we work to improve our service in the city.”
