Brandon Barrientez, 18, of Lubbock was indicted Tuesday for aggravated sexual assault of a child. Court records said the girl was 5 years old.
Police were called in November 2016 to a residence in Northeast Lubbock.
A police report said the mother, “regularly asks her children if they have been touched inappropriately by anyone.”
On this particular occasion the little girl described sexual abuse and she identified Barrientez as the one who did it. The mother found out that the abuse happened in May or June when the girl was at someone else’s house.
Barrientez chose not to speak to police. However, when confronted by the mom, Barrientez cried and said the little girl was lying according to a police report.
A sexual assault examination indicated “there was no evidence of a penetrating injury.”
Barrientez was the subject of an arrest warrant starting in December. He was arrested on January 5 and has been held since then in the Lubbock County Detention Center on a $75,000 bond.
