The Federal Bureau of Investigations announced Tuesday that former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, the presumptive democratic presidential nominee, was “extremely careless” in her handling of her private email server that she apparently used for government purposes.
F.B.I. Director James Comey said after its investigation, the bureau did not recommend charges be filed against Clinton after the email scandal.
“I think it’s time we talk about the good things that she’s done and is capable of doing,” said Lubbock County Democratic Chair Marjorie Reynolds.
“She is too smart and too ethical that she would have never done anything to jeopardize herself, her job, or our country,” Reynolds explained.
The F.B.I.’s recommendation came three days after Clinton met with investigators.
Republican leaders on the South Plains responded to the FBI’s recommendation that no charges ought to be filed, condemning the decision.
“The Obama Administration and its appointees have continuously turned a blind eye, affirming that the rules do not apply to their friends, Hillary and Bill Clinton,” said Charles Perry (R- District 84).
“After confirming that it is likely Hillary Clinton has jeopardized our nations’ security interest, due to her incompetence at best, the FBI has determined that no charges are justified against her,” Perry added.
“Secretary Clinton recklessly mishandled and transmitted highly classified and confidential information over her personal server, repeatedly compromising our national security, and her position of public trust,” said Jodey Arrington, republican candidate for Congress, to represent District 19, which Lubbock is a part of.
“The voters should reject this troubling pattern of dishonesty, poor judgment, and carelessness in November when choosing our next President and Commander in Chief,” Arrington said.
“Clinton has done lots of admirable things,” Reynolds rebuked. “Those people who are looking for an excuse not to vote for her, will use that as an excuse not to vote for her.”
“The FBI’s recommendation is not supported by their own findings further undermining the trust in our government,” Perry explained.
“People are sick and tired of what’s happening in Washington, and in many respects it’s because some of our leaders believe they play by a different set of rules, and that they are above the law,” Arrington added.
