The second-annual STEAM Camp is underway at Mackenzie Middle School this week as students learn about electricity and prepare for their Electric Art Show.

Students are attending camp from 8:30 a.m. – 12 p.m. until Thursday in the art rooms at Mackenzie Middle School, 5402 12th St. The activities and lessons are built around this year’s theme of electricity and the students end each day with a blog post and photos describing what they learned.

The culmination of the camp will be on Thursday at 5:30 p.m., where the students will present an Electric Art Show displaying pieces of LED artwork they created during the week.

STEAM is an acronym for science, technology, engineering, arts and mathematics and STEAM programs work to integrate these areas into the classroom.
