On Sunday, Christy Brown, a Hairstylist at Locker Room Haircuts, showed up for work like any other day. She was sweeping up the store when Constable Joe Pinson grabbed her and kissed her on the cheek.
“I like looked at him kind of like shocked and he just started telling me, he said ‘I just wanted you to know that your life matters to me’ ” Brown said.
She added people are so quick to focus on the negative, but not the positive.
“Just treat people like you want them to treat you. If you remember that then everybody will understand that all lives do matter. All our blood is the same, everybodys blood is the same,” Brown said.
Jessica Aranda, the Store Manager, is also a Reserve Officer in Slaton.
“It’s really good being on both sides. Being an officer and seeing this happen, it’s just amazing how of course everyone sees the negative but there’s a lot of positive,” Aranda said.
Locker Room Haircuts will continue offering free haircuts to officers through the end of July.
