Lubbock Police announced the arrest of a teenager accused of stealing from a South Lubbock neighborhood Wednesday.
Nathaniel Reyna, 17, was arrested on several charges stemming from a police pursuit Wednesday morning. Those charges included Burglary of a Vehicle, Evading Arrest on Foot, Fraudulent Possession of Identifying Information, Theft, and Possession of a Controlled Substance.
Police said officers responded to a vehicle burglary report around 6:46 a.m. at the 3400 block of 103rd Street. The suspect tried to leave the scene, and officers pursued him on foot.
“The suspect was captured a short time later carrying a backpack with numerous stolen items,” police said in a statement.
“Officers are still trying to determine if this is the same suspect from other vehicle burglaries in the area this morning,” the statement said.
Records show Reyna was booked into the Lubbock County Detention Center Wednesday evening.
