On October 11, 2016 a female was riding her bicycle in the 4700 block of 81st Street when a blue truck occupied by two people stopped to ask her if she wanted a ride back to her house. The female told them she did not and proceeded to her destination where Police were then called.
We want to let the citizens of Lubbock know that this is an on-going investigation. Anytime there is a report where any possible attempt, real or perceived, at abducting or harming a child it is taken very seriously by the LPD. Our patrol units have been alerted about this incident and a closer patrol has been put in place. People in the area should not be worried but use caution and be vigilant. If you see anything remotely suspicious along these lines please call Crime Line at 741-1000 or 911 if an emergency.
