Lubbock Police said a male pedestrian was hospitalized after he was hit by a vehicle Friday night.

The hit and run call came in around 10:30 p.m. to the area of 4th Street and Slide Road.

“When officers arrived they found a 24-year-old male pedestrian had been struck by a vehicle and was lying on the road. The driver of the vehicle failed to stop and render aid,” police said Saturday.

The pedestrian was taken to a local hospital with what police described as “life threatening injuries.”

LPD said the victim remained in critical condition Saturday morning.

Police did not yet have a vehicle description for the suspect.
