The Lubbock Police Department released additional information Sunday on the deadly motorcycle accident in East Lubbock Saturday evening.
The accident occurred in the 5500 block of East Loop 289 (near 50th Street) at approximately 6:40 p.m.
Russell Martin Arbogast Jr., 57, was pronounced dead at the scene by a UMC EMS crew.
According to Lubbock Police, Arbogast was northbound on East Loop 289 and traveling at a high rate of speed. He then attempted to exit Lop 289 onto the access road. The motorcycle temporarily left the roadway causing Arbogast to lose control of the motorcycle. He was then thrown from the motorcycle.
The Lubbock Police Department’s Accident Investigation team arrived on scene following the accident.
Next of kin has been notified and the investigation is ongoing.
