NOTE: On Friday morning Lubbock Police said by phone Francisco Ramos was located safely. An official written statement to that same effect was not yet provided.
Lubbock Police asked for help to find Francisco Osornio Ramos, 89, who was reported missing from Abernathy and “may be walking to Lubbock.”
LPD said, “Due to his age and the heat index, there is a serious concern in locating Mr. Ramos.” The police statement also used the word “endangered.”
Ramos was described as 5’00” tall, and 120 pounds. He was also described as having green eyes and grey hair.
At about the time LPD issued a statement, the National Weather Service reported a temperature of 97 degrees for Lubbock.
