Lubbock Police were dispatched to a home in the 5400 block of 9th Street in reference to a burglary in progress. Neighbors called police at about 5:40 a.m. when they noticed people with flashlights walking in the backyard of the home.
Police said, “As officers entered through the back of the home, they found two male suspects running toward the front door. A Lubbock Police Department K9 was released after the suspects refused to stop.”
One man was arrested on scene “with the help of the K9” and a second suspect ran away. Police said a third suspect was later found hiding in the house.
“Officers located property from the home that the suspects dropped as they tried to run from officers,” police said.
Police arrested Niall Gomez, 23, and Jamie Ybarra, 29.
Gomez was charged with burglary of a habitation and engaging in organized crime. Ybarra was charged with burglary of a habitation, engaging in organized crime and evading on foot.
Police said one remaining suspect had not been located yet.
