UPDATE: The police have issued a statement: “Police have located the GMC pickup truck and the suspected driver. No arrests have been made at this time. This is an ongoing investigation.”
Lubbock Police were called to a self-storage facility late Monday morning for the report of a child abuse or even sexual abuse of a child.
However, investigators were not able to immediately substantiate the initial report.
Officers were told that a child was assaulted in a pickup truck in the 1600 block of 45th Street.
On Monday afternoon, police said, “At this time we are unaware of any crime occurring, however we would like to locate the pickup truck in order to check on the welfare of possibly a teenage juvenile.”
Police also said, “The truck is a newer model GMC dark colored pick up with a utility rack. If you see this truck please call police or Crime Line.”

Police were reviewing surveillance video from nearby businesses for more information.
