As Lubbock continues to see triple digit temperatures, it’s hard to imagine that anyone is finding any benefit from the heat, but local air conditioning companies have reported that business has never been better.

Unfortunately losing air can prove to be a very frustrating situation for homeowners, but Toby Burt with Comfort Masters said there are a few tips you should consider before waiting until July to get your unit looked at.

“Between March and April, you know when it starts to warm up, check things out, evaluate your home, evaluate your system. ” said Burt.

Although business is booming, Burt said that at times the phone lines can become rather overwhelming and that every business in town is backed up.

“We have a lot of loyal customers and have had for many years, and I’ve known since I’ve been here, that use us, but as it heats up, you get the people who are looking for anyone that can come out.” said Burt.

Has worked on AC units in Lubbock for 10 years now and says that he has seen families cry from how thankful they are to have cool air blowing in  the midst of this heat wave.

“To be able to leave a house, and the customer doesn’t have that pain anymore.. It’s a good feeling to walk away knowing you really helped someone out. You know that pain is gone.” said Hart.
