The Lubbock Chapter of Leadership Women will host Eddie Aldrete, Senior Vice President of International Bank of Commerce for a luncheon, on June 9th, at The Legacy located at 14th and Ave K. Mr. Aldrete is in charge of public affairs for IBC and, is their spokesperson on border related issues. Aldrete has over 25 years of experience in strategic communications, media relations, political, governmental and public affairs. He has given similar #TED talks in San Antonio and around the State. The subject of this discussion will be “Connecting the Dots Between Demographics, the Workforce and Immigration.”
Leadership Women is the longest running and most successful women’s leadership organization in the country. The Leadership Texas class of 2016 includes four local women in a group of 90 outstanding women leaders competitively selected from across the state to participate in the longest-running women’s leadership development program in the US. Countless notable community leaders and professionals have completed the program, now in its 34th year. The theme for the 2016 program is “The Future of Community: A State of Possibilities” Aldrete contributed to the San Antonio session in March. The goal of Leadership Women is to arm men and women with knowledge to make impactful contributions to their organizations and communities. The cost of lunch is $20 and the event begins at 11:30 a.m. It is open to the public particularly those interested in the economy, immigration reform, border security and the effects on the workforce are encouraged to attend.
