Lubbock Christian School is pleased to announce the hiring of our new Athletic Director, Chris Softley.

Coach Chris Softley is beginning his first year as the Athletic Director and Head Football Coach at Lubbock Christian High School. He is a graduate of Abilene Christian University with a Master’s degree in Higher Education and a graduate from Nebraska Wesleyan with a Bachelor’s degree in Health and Human Performance with minor degrees in Psychology and Athletic Coaching.

Coach Softley has 8 years of experience coaching at the high school level and 2 years at the collegiate level. He also played 4 years of college football at Nebraska Wesleyan. He has coached at Rockwall Heath High School, Mt. Vernon High School, and most recently at Sunnyvale High School. During this time he has coached football, basketball, and track and has been fortunate to have coached 6 district championship winning teams.

He is very excited to play a vital role in the development of young men and women as servant leaders for the ministry of the Lord Jesus Christ. He believes athletics needs to be redeemed back to being a tool that is used to bring Glory to God and conform players and coaches more into the likeness of Jesus Christ. He is passionate about the opportunity for Lubbock Christian to be a central hub for other Christian schools to see how to “Do Sports God’s Way.”

Coach Softley is married to his best friend and wonderful wife Autumn who shares the same passion for competing for Christ through athletics. She was a former collegiate basketball player at ACU and state champion winning girls basketball coach before the couple had their first child, a beautiful daughter: Tatum (1). Coach Softley’s family will be an active part of his ministry at Lubbock Christian as he is equally passionate about being a Godly husband and father as he is a coach.

“We were extremely impressed with Coach Softley and his wife Autumn from the beginning.  He will bring not only a high level of coaching experience and expertise, but spiritual leadership as well.  He is passionate about using athletics as a tool to build habits of excellence in young student athletes as well as to strengthen their walk with Jesus Christ.  He is a total program coach and believes in the success of all athletic and academic programs.  I have a great deal of confidence in Coach Softley and am looking forward to working with him to bring Lubbock Christian athletics to a new level of excellence.” states incoming LCS President, Tye Rogers.

LCS offers classes for Pre-kindergarten through 12th grades. The school is fully accredited through AdvancEd and the Texas Private School Accreditation Commission (TEPSAC), which is fully approved and recognized by the Texas Education Agency.  LCS welcomes families of all faiths and admits students of any race, color, and national or ethnic origin.
