Lubbock Christian School cordially invites you to join us for a Ribbon Cutting and Open House for our new Elementary Learning Center. The event will take place on Wednesday, January 25 at 4:00 PM in the new facility located at 2604 Dover Ave. Tours and refreshments will follow.
In 1958, just a few short years after the establishment of Lubbock Christian School, WWII military barracks were purchased from Reese Air Force Base and placed on the LCS campus to be used for classroom space. What were then approximately 15-year-old buildings are now over 75-year-old buildings that up until last summer were still in use by our students today. With the construction of the new Elementary Learning Center, the barracks have been retired and for the first time in school history, all elementary students in grades Pre-Kindergarten through 6th grade are under one roof.
The Elementary Learning Center features 19 state-of-the-art elementary classrooms equipped with the latest smart board technology, improved internet connectivity, new desks and chairs for students/teachers and improved classroom layout to increase function of learning “stations.” Also included is an all new computer lab, music and art room, as well as 1800 square feet of dedicated office, conference and resource space for LCS administration, teachers and volunteers.
As the oldest private school in the greater Lubbock area, Lubbock Christian School (LCS) began serving families in 1954. The initial classes on the current campus were held in 1958, and the Class of 1965 was the first to graduate from Lubbock Christian High School. No church governs or subsidizes Lubbock Christian School, although the school was founded and is directed by members of Churches of Christ. LCS offers classes for Pre-kindergarten through 12th grades. The school is fully accredited through AdvancEd and the Texas Private School Accreditation Commission (TEPSAC), which is fully approved and recognized by the Texas Education Agency. LCS welcomes families of all faiths and admits students of any race, color, and national or ethnic origin.
