As a result of the United States Supreme Court’s recent decision in Obergefell v. Hodges, the Office of the Lubbock County Clerk will begin issuance of same-sex marriage licenses on Monday, July 6, 2015.
The Office of the Lubbock County Clerk, which is located at 904 Broadway, Room 207, will also be extending its regular business hours from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. in order to accommodate couples seeking issuance of a marriage license.
Please be mindful that a sufficient amount of time is required for the Office of the Lubbock County Clerk to make absolutely certain that all necessary and required information is obtained from the applicants for marriage licenses so that said marriage licenses can be properly and validly issued.
